ADS-B Ground stations

RAXAR’s ADS-B ground-station technology combines RF reception, digital signal processing, embedded software, timing, and network interfaces for Air Traffic Management surveillance applications. The platform brings together receiver hardware, firmware, and software within an integrated architecture for continuous operation and connection to wider surveillance systems.

ADS-B Ground stations

Technical overview

The station architecture supports redundant configurations and hot-swappable line-replaceable units, facilitating maintenance and continuity of operation. Remote management functions provide access to equipment status and configuration, while surveillance data interfaces connect the station to external processing and ATM infrastructure.

The development encompasses the RF receiver, digital processing electronics, embedded software, and system integration. Control over the hardware, firmware, and software design supports configuration variants, functional evolution, and component obsolescence management throughout the equipment lifecycle.

Key technical features include:

  • ADS-B reception and processing for en-route, terminal, and airport surveillance applications.
  • Redundant architecture and hot-swappable line-replaceable units.
  • Integrated timing, network connectivity, and remote equipment management.
  • Support for multilateration applications.
  • Modular hardware, firmware, and software architecture.
